Welcome to Pack 43!

Thank you for visiting our page! Founded in 1936, Cub Scout Pack 43 is one of the oldest Packs in the country and has been continuously chartered since 1951.  Pack 43 serves the Safety Harbor, FL area with our chartered organization being The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Safety Harbor, Florida. The following information is provided to orient you to our Pack and to scouting.

Cub Scouting is a fun and rewarding experience. Pack 43 has always maintained the goal of helping children build character, respect, confidence, citizenship, and personal fitness.  We live by the motto: Do Your Best; and we believe we should have fun doing it.  We are a family oriented pack, which believes that Scouting goes beyond meeting once a week and should be part of our everyday life.

We welcome all children in K through 5th grade who are interested in becoming part of the Scouting family.  While many of our members attend Safety Harbor or Eisenhower Elementary Schools, all are welcome.  Our pack has been a part of Scouting since 1936 and in continuous service to Safety Harbor for 69 years. We look forward to many more years of providing families with fun activities that will help children grow into great adults of our community.

Celebrating Over 80 Years of Service

For the 6th year in a row, Pack 43 has earned the "Scouting's Journey to Excellence" award at it's highest level.  This is due to the incredible volunteers and families of Pack 43.  We continue to be one of the top packs in West Central Florida due to the dedication of great Scouts, parents, leaders, and the support of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. "JTE Gold" is the Boy Scouts Highest Unit Award of recognition for outstanding performance of a unit.

Pack 43 was originally chartered in 1936 and has been continuously chartered since 1951. While the Pack has been in existence for 80 years, the pack disbanded for a short time during World War II.  So, why does Pack 43 wear a 69 over their pack number instead of 80?  The BSA awards and celebrates uninterrupted membership and while we have existed for 80 years, we have only been continuously chartered for 69.  No matter how you look at it, we are proud that we have been part of the fun and community of Safety Harbor for so many years.

With our age, Pack 43 also has the special distinction and privilege of wearing it's National Pack Numbers. What's the big deal?  Pack 43 is the 43rd "Cub Pack" formed in the Boy Scouts of America.  Pack 43 is one of the only Packs left that has the distinction of wearing it's National Number.  While some packs may have lower numbers, these numbers are assigned by the Council, and rarely reflect what their national number may be.  We wear our number as a badge of honor, and work hard to maintain the heritage of our pack.
